Allison Leach, Graduate Student

Graduate student Allison LeachAllison Leach joined the Sustainability Institute in fall 2014 to calculate UNH’s nitrogen footprint. Prior to arriving at UNH, Allison was a researcher and graduate student at the University of Virginia where she developed the first-ever university level nitrogen footprint model. UNH is one of the first universities where this new tool will be applied. Allison holds a BS and MS in Environmental Sciences from the University of Virginia. Her Master’s work compared the nitrogen efficiency of permaculture livestock farm in Virginia to conventional farms.

Allison is currently a student in the UNH Natural Resources & Earth Systems Science Ph.D. Program where she is researching the impact of human consumption patterns and food production methods on nitrogen losses to the environment.
