Allison Leach, Postdoctoral researcher

Allison Leach joined the Sustainability Institute in fall 2014 to calculate UNH’s nitrogen footprint. Prior to arriving at UNH, Allison was a researcher and graduate student at the University of Virginia where she developed the first-ever university level nitrogen footprint model. UNH is one of the first universities where this new tool will be applied. Allison holds a BS and MS in Environmental Sciences from the University of Virginia. Her Master’s work compared the nitrogen efficiency of permaculture livestock farm in Virginia to conventional farms. Allison earned her Ph.D. from the University of New Hampshire with her dissertation titled "The Nitrogen Challenge: Footprints Tools and On-Farm Solutions."
