We rely on the generosity of donors like you to expand UNH’s sustainability leadership -- from academic learning opportunities for students to cutting edge research and engagement that benefit our state, region, country and planet.
Your gift to the Sustainability Institute at UNH is an investment in our students, faculty, and staff who are making a difference both on and off campus.
Gifts are put towards areas of greatest need across UNHSI's four initiatives in biodiversity, climate, food and culture. If you would like your gift to be used by a particular UNHSI initiative -- including the options below -- please specificy the initiative(s) in the "Comments" field of the online giving form. Examples of specific UNHSI initiatives include:
- Faculty scholars
- Student support, from scholarships to internships
- Research support
“I am proud of our state’s university and its leadership in the nation as an institution committed to sustainability,” says Durham, NH philanthropist Tom Haas, who gave $1 million to UNHSI to establish The Thomas W. Haas Professorship in Sustainable Food Systems. “For future generations, it is important that we embrace the principles of sustainability now. I am pleased to do what I can to move the dialogue and the work forward.”
“We need to begin modeling solutions on a scale where people can see a difference,” says Jo Lamprey, seacoast environmental pioneer and retired president of Lamprey Brothers, who established The Josephine A. Lamprey Fellowship in Climate and Sustainability UNHSI. “Supporting work that UNH does in the area of climate change and sustainability is our best hope.”
