Nicole Tichenor, Postdoctoral Research Fellow

UNHSI Research Associate & Administrative Assistant, Sarah Large Nicole Tichenor is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at UNHSI. She recently received her Ph.D. from the Agriculture, Food and Environment (AFE) program at Tufts University’s Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy. Her interdisciplinary research focuses on food system sustainability and food security. She has experience in food and agricultural policy spanning the local to national levels through work at the Douglas County Food Policy Council in Kansas and the National Family Farm Coalition in Washington, D.C. Nicole also has an M.S. from the AFE program and was a dual major in Philosophy and Religious Studies at The University of Kansas. She was born and raised in Missouri, “The Show Me State,” a slogan that fits well with her interest in producing rigorous analyses to inform the development of a more sustainable and equitable food system.
